So I went and purchased the new self-titled Killswitch Engage album yesterday and listened to it twice that night...but found myself only really liking 3 out of the 11 songs. It was much different than what i expected, especially after an album like Daylight Dies (blew my mind)!!
It was almost as if they were tryin too hard to in certain songs. The screaming was bad and did not sound anywhere near as clean as the previous album. Plus the lyrics left me wanted more. I still love the instrumentals which is always a plus, but they DID NOT have any song that was constant grindcore, a obvious deviation from what i'm used to hearing from them (dating back all the way to their 1st album). Each song was broken by a slow chorus which only reminded me of My Curse, KSE's most liked but overpopularized and overglorified song (there are so many better songs on that album).
Anyways i wanted to know if people felt the same way?
Note: I would love to see number 7:Take Me Away hit radio waves so the guys can finally hit the real big stage. It is the only song off the album that has radio potential.

I havent' actually gave it a listen yet to be honest. The reviews have been very mixed. I thought they might take a more commercial approach with this album, but from the sounds of it they certainly haven't gone in that direction.
You should write a review and we'll post it on the site. You appear to be a much bigger KSE listener then us so our readers might enjoy it.
